I am looking for a 4 ft wide cultipacker. I have found models that weigh from 308 pounds up to 800 pounds. I am wondering how much weight the 1401 can lift with the three-point lift. Any help will be appreciated.

Forget 800 lbs. My little YM186D (similar size) wouldn't lift my 750 lb backhoe, not even close.

308 lbs should be fine but wait for others to answer who have done this.

The parts manual for the 155 states 926# maximum lift.

The repair manual for the 155 states "more than 1210#".

The repair manual for the 169 states 1102#.

These are all "at the pins".

All the above may not jive but straight out of the manuals for what it is worth. I agree with California 800# is way to much.

The distance the weight is located from the arms is almost as important as the actual weight. The farther you get from the tractor the less weight you can lift. You might be able to lift 900# at the pins but might be only able to lift 200# if the weight is 8' back (just a made up number). Cultipackers are typically pretty shallow implements so, if you can get it right up close to the tires, you would have a better chance of it lifting it.

I would get the lightest available. You can always add weight if needed. With your 2wd you are probably going to need suitcase weights on the front to pull/lift any ground-engaging implement. I had to put 200# weights on the front of my YM2000 to keep the front wheels on the ground when pulling/lifting my 5' box blade.
