Is There A YM270?
I have recently been getting calls about parts for an American model YM270. I know it is not a US model but is there such a thing?. The picture one guy sent me (see attachment) looks suspiciously like a YM2700 (you can even see a paint blotch where the extra zero used to be). Is this an attempt to sneak a known oddball off as a US version on someone, or is there really a YM270?
Oops, the attachment didn't work. Here is the link.

Re: Is There A YM270?
After enlarging the photo, it appears the badge/emblem on the hood does say YM270. I just wonder what the exporter is doing with a US model.....or is that common for them to have them over in Japan?

Aaron,
NO 270. Not listed anywhere in our parts books. In the pic you can see the intake pipe sticking up on the other side of the tractor.....it is a 2700.

That is what I thought but I did a search and found a few for sale on Ebay a few months back.... go figure. I'm not sure who is retailing these but beware- they are selling them using the "three digit model number = US tractor" line.

Re: Is There A YM270?
Easy way to verify....in the early models all serial #s on the housing start with the model #....you know, YM2000-xxxxx. So is the serial # YM270-xxxxx or YM2700-xxxxx? And if there is the slightest hint of alteration or grinding, I'd be out of there.

There IS such a thing as a YM270. I know someone that had one. Look at the picture again. Have you ever seen a YM2700 with lights in the rear fenders? I only saw his tractor once and it didn't seem to be a large as a YM2700.

Re: Is There A YM270?
Unfortunately Yanmar.com does not list the grey models like Kubota does on theirs.
