Default Yanmar 1110D My First Yanmar!! I need some info.

I just purchased a ym 1110d 4wd tractor for only $1600. Did I get a good buy? So far, I like it except for I can't read the Japanese stickers on it. I didn't get an owners manual, so I'm not so sure how much oil it takes, or transmission fluid. What does "TS" stand for on the ignition switch when you turn it backwards a quarter turn? Please excuse my ignorance. Thanks to all that help.

Contratulations! $1600 is an excellent price if it is in good working condition. I have one which I had to do a good bit of work on after paying more than that. I now have about $2500 in it. It is one tough little tractor. I use it to till my garden, and pull a yard cart. I also used it to plow snow last winter with a 42" front blade. It did a fantastic job. If you get a chance check out my web page. My plans now include putting a lawn tractor mowing deck out front for mowing my yard.

Here's some information you should find useful.

Transimission: JD303 or equivalent, 11 L (the tranny doubles as the hydraulic reservoir and uses the tranny fluid for hydraulics)
Engine: diesel rated engine oil, 1.9 L (I use Shell Rotella T 15W40 from Wal-Mart)
Coolant: 25% antifreeze, 75% distilled water, total 2.7 L DON'T exceed 30% antifreeze or it will overheat in summer
Oil Filter: NAPA 1064
Fuel Filter: NAPA 3262
Air Filter: 7-02701 or 7-02203 both are about 1/8" too short so I put a ring of small diameter rubber hose on the gasket to make it seal in the air cleaner.

The "TS" stand for Thermo Start. It is a pre-heater for cold weather starting.
