Does anyone else here own the 235? Or even know anything about this model? If so I have a question for them.

I almost bought one last winter. They're newer than the FXxx's. What's your question?

When sat in the drivers seat, there are two levers behind your right leg, one is the 4 wheel drive select, what is the other one for?? It's interlocked with the 4 WD select, in other words it must be in 4 WD before it can be pulled up.

I'd also love to know what all the knobs, switches etc are for on the ufo drivers console near the right fender! I know one joy stick is for the right lift arm hydraulic cylinder, and another is a "draft" joy stick.

I bought it from a "used construction equipment" dealer who had only ever used it for brush hogging around his place. They had never tried to find out what all the "bells and whistles" did. So they couldn't help me on anything other than what they had used, ie PTO select etc..

It was a nice clean, low hours tractor, sounded OK when I took it out in the field for a test brush hogging, so went ahead and bought it, that was over a year ago, and I've been very impressed with it.

I have found out, through trial and error what some things do, but others just put lights on, on the instrument panel, and as everythings written in Japanese, I'm kinda of lost.

I have 2 FX235D as my own tractors here. The 2 levers are for the 4wd, and quick turn. the one closest to the middle (red knob) converts your tractor to front wheel drive only, and you can turn on a dime !
When you flip that lever on, it also shifts you into range #2 on the main gears.

any questions feel free to call me

Was hoping that Ernie would see this thread and comment as I knew he had this model for his own personal use. The knobs on the UFO are for setting up and controlling the associated tiller. From what Ernie told me you can set the lift and depth heigths and then via switch repeatedly raise and lower the tiller to the preset heigths. At least that is how I remember his description.

Give him a call for a better explanation.

Thanks for that info Ernie, will have to give front wheel drive a go next time I'm out in the fields!!

I had an idea all the UFO stuff was for a tiller Mickey, there is a small push rod that actuates a variable resistor at the top of the lift arms, I'd assume that fastens to a tiller and provides "feedback" from the tiller to the electronics.

For anyone else reading this who has this model, I had a problem with the hydraulics a couple of weeks back, a fuse had blown, I located it under the cover under the drivers seat, it's a 10 amp and controls all lift arm functions via the two solenoids for lift/lower and the small hydraulic cylinder on the R/H lift arm.
