I need the clutch replaced in my 2500. It's a job beyond my ability.

I'm willing to load the tractor up on my flatbed to anywhere a day drive from Loveland, CO.

Any recommendations, suggestions or ideas are welcome. Thanks.

What's wrong with your clutch. Normally, any able-bodied man who can diagnose a bad clutch, can replace one. Col. is kind of in-between any shops that I know of, in Oregon, Texas, and Cal.

It will no longer fully disengage. I've had to re-adjust the threaded rod a few times over the last few months until now it's at the end of travel. I suspect the pressure plate or throwout bearing is shot.

In any case, I don't have an indoor facility to work on the thing (pending rebuilding a garage) and I don't have an engine hoist. It's not possible to play shade tree mechanic outdoors in the middle of the brutal winter we're having.

Have you considered a local mechanic who does house calls?
You may be surprised how many there are out there.

I know you are in the mtns and I have seen lots of pix of the snow
you are getting. So I am sure that will slow things down as you said.

Your Loveland yellow pages list several tractor dealerships. Will none of them work on it? Sometimes they will be more helpful if you assure them that you can have the parts in just a few days. Most of the dealers that I talk to say they don't want to work on Yanmars because they are afraid they will get stuck with a tractor taking up space while they wait weeks or months for parts.

If none of them will help I also found a lot of mechanic's shops in that same listing. A basic clutch job can be done by any local mechanic. They don't need to be a tractor mechanic.

Thanks for the suggestions, Aaron. I'll be getting on the phone.

I *assume* you guys at Hoye have the clutch parts I'm likely to need...?

Is there a local deere dealer around your parts ? My local deere dealer told me that he would repair anything on my tractor (yanmar)that he could get parts for. He says money is money .Doesn't matter to him if it's yanmar or what ever he will take it in

Yup, I'm taking it over to a local Deere dealer.
The 2500 has the same drivetrain as the JD 850, anyway.

Thanks for the suggestion, I was there already.
