I am new on the site. I have a Yanmar 226D tractor. I am in desperate need of a clutch housing for it. The housing is cast iron, and it broke when I was lifting with the FEL. The tractor is now in 2 halves because the housing forms an integral part of the frame for the tractor. I will buy either the bare housing or the full assembly. In researching this, it appears that the models 1810D and 1820D from Yanmar MAY be the same but the grey market version of the 226d.

Any help that anyone may have either as a source for a part or give me any ideas about how I might find a housing will be greatly appreciated. It would save me from junking the entire tractor!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Don't know how bad your break is but, you could take to a local welder & let him take a look at it b-4 you junk the tractor

Kenmac,

Thanks for your post. The casing is broken completely in half. I was unaware that you could weld cast. Is the weld as strong as the original cast? It would need to be since that is part of the frame for the tractor, and takes most of the weight of the FEL.

Thanks again, and I will check.

Sure you can weld cast . Take it to a good welder .It's been a while since I've done that type of welding as I have been in another field for some time. But, I use to use a nickel rod for cast. They may have other rods out there not that are better.
