Newly Purchased Posted by Harry Palmer on 02/17/2011

I just bought a CaseIH 24DXE with the front end loader (FEL), box scraper, and 8 gang disk. So far it works fine. I bought it from a private seller - so no warranty. Nobody in the area has small sub-compact tractors. The closest JD was 800 miles.

JD seems big back East, but only the big units sell in my area. I'm still learning about this unit since it is my first tractor. So far, I've found it has an electric short which prevents the headlights and horn from working. The seller stuck a 30 amp fuse in which sort of hid the defect. CaseIH does not want anybody finding out about older equipment; their website doesn't even reference the sub-compacts. Of course, now that I have researched this site I understand why.

I don't need a tractor larger than what I bought, but JD seems to have more subs available than others. I'll let you know how things work out.
