Although they are very expensive for a non-professional, if you have a lot of acreage to mow at your home, this mower makes it fun.
I went through big box mowers like they were disposable. Typically, even with good maintenance, they would begin to break down on me (requiring major maintenance) after only about 250 hours. On a Grasshopper, 250 hours is barely broken in.
It is reliable, easy to maintain, and cuts like a dream. I have a lot of trees and the maneuverability is outstanding. It features a work-horse Kubota diesel engine, which is easy to maintain, and it sips fuel (only about 1/2 gallon per hour for me, half what my gas mowers burn).
It has cut my mowing time by 1/3 vs. my previous mower (a Cub Cadet rider). Although it was expensive, I expect it will be the last mower I purchase, so overall it has been an excellent purchase.
