John Deere 1023e Posted by El Scorcho on 02/18/2013

I bought the subcompact JD 1023e for my 2+ acre property. Along with the tractor, I bought the 54" mower deck, 47" snow blower and the bucket.

So far, I have used every attachment. I have about 1.5 acres of lawn that I mow, a 200'+ driveway to clear (the snow blower has worked without a hitch even with the 30" of snow we got dumped on us during the blizzard), and a wood burning insert in the living room. Moving firewood around the yard has become a pleasure, not a chore, with the bucket.

I'm looking forward to all the yardwork I will be able to easily accomplish this year.

For my yard, the 1023e is perfect. I chose the 1023e over the 1026r because my father has a JD 3320 with a backhoe attachment. I can borrow his tractor any time, so I didn't need the revoloving seat as I knew I wouldn't need the backhoe attachment for my tractor.

REVIEWER'S ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Pros: Ease of use, reliability, easy on and off of attachments. Cons: The only con I have so far is that you have to remove the PTO shaft of the snowblower to attach the bucket. It would be nicer if they had designed the stand for the bucket to take into account the shaft, That way, you could detach the snowblower and mount and attach the bucket. This would be useful for hauling wood or making mounds of snow for the kids. Otherwise, no complaints so far.
