John Deere 5093E Posted by Al Hoggan on 04/01/2011

Initial thoughts:

Generally a very nice ultimate acreage tractor. Easy to use, great visibility from the cab, and the quick detach attachment system is very user friendly. The 563SL loader is a beast and easily handles 2000 lb. round bales. The power reverser is great and very easy to use.

Negatives:

The dealer installed Pioneer radio CD player is goofy. It is an LCD display and the angle from the operator seat is such that the driver cannot see the display. The MFWD engaged light on the instrument panel is not used on the 5093 so the only reminder that you are in 4 wheel drive is by checking the position of the lever.

The 3 point hitch controls are awkwardly placed. The interior door handle is also a little weird. There is no real door handle but a large tab that the operator has to manipulate to get the door open.

A very nice tractor and I would certainly recommend to anyone interested in this size of tractor.
