John Deere 2040 Posted by Riderbill on 08/06/2012

I don't know how old the tractor is. I bought it used from my dad 10 years ago. Dad bought used several years before that. I do normal maintenance on it.

The only problems I have is the fuel tank rubs on a bracket that causes it to leak. I have repair it twice and it is leaking again now. Poor design.

I recently rented a Kubota 40hp tractor with a front end loader and box blade. My 2040 does not have a loader. I find that my 30 yr. old tractor has more power than the brand new Kubota did and has a better gear range.

I use the following implements: 7' HD Dual edge grader, 7' Grader Blade, 6' box scrapper, 6' brush shredder, 7' long HD home made boom pole, 6' carrier to haul drums, sacks ect, 11KW PTO driven generator.
