An Oldie but a Beauty (New Zealand, not Australia, no N.Z. box to click) Posted by Owen on 01/06/2012

I've owned a J.D.2130 and 2030 when I was farming...great tractors. This ones the earlier model, 67hp, two wheel drive and is much the same as the other models mentioned except that the later models have hydraulic engagement of the PTO (and a few extras like adjustable sway bars on the 3 point linkage.

I use it in my wood yard to shift logs and run a hydraulic wood splitter off the PTO (about 70 litres/min, but will power much bigger pump.
These tractors have all given me very reliable service. The steering at the full hydraulic pressure of 2250 psi is impressive, you can go from lock to lock with your little finger.

Pros: Great steering, good tourque reserve, a reliable workhorse, good cooling system in hot conditions, starts well. Cons: The gearbox is quite unusual, but fine, once you get used to it...could perhaps do with faster reverse gear.
