I bought a new New Holland TC 29D in 2000. I did look briefly at Kioti, but was afraid their quality might be sub par, and they didn't seem as refined as NH.
Now fast forward, I have been looking for something with a little more HP, and looked again at NH. I was disappointed with the new entries. They were more like what I remembered with the Kioti years earlier, a bit unrefined, controls in inconvenient places, etc.
I then started looking at other brands. LS (I know they build NH) was even less refined, and didn't seem to have the quality I wanted, and the price was on par with NH (who had incentives at the time).
I then started reading more, and was finding that Kioti was well liked, despite what I had thought years earlier. I took a look at the DK40se HST, and the DK35se HST. I was impressed with both. The controls were well laid out, I liked the flat deck design, and the other extras Kioti has. I settled on the DK35 se HST, and couldn't be happier at this point. I think today they exceed the quality and layout I observed with NH, and LS. I did also look at JD, but they were out of my price range, so I didn't look closer.
