Massey 1010 Subcompact Tractor Posted by Bill on 11/23/2015

I purchased this tractor in 2009. It came with a 52-inch belly mower, a 48-inch rotor-tiller, and a front-end loader. All of this cost me $3,500 Canadian.

I have since added a 6-foot blade and a 60-inch rear MTD snow blower. I wanted to get a 48-inch blower but was unable to find any other than new, so I went with the 60-inch used, which in all fairness is too big for this tractor. After the first pass, when you can reduce the size of cut, it is ok. The mower and tiller it handles with ease. The front-end loader is handy, but one has to remember it will tip the tractor and it won’t lift the bucket on heavy lifts. Other than a little instability on hilly ground, I’ve had no problems with this little tractor. It is a manual transmission, not hydro. I personally don't like hydro-static drives.
