Hey guys, I'm new so bear with me. I formally had an old Massey 175 that never let me down, unless I tried to go into damp areas too early in the spring (2WD only).
I moved from a 20 acre lot to 2.5 acres and now have a 2005 New Holland TC30. I was fairly apprehensive about dropping to a smaller tractor but I wanted to be able to use it for landscaping and lawn duty, and that just wasn't possible with my big 'ole Massey with ag tires.
Now that I had my TC30 for a few months, I can say that other than wishing the FEL had bit more lift capacity, I am surprised by how much this little tractor can do.
I have used it to move about 100 cu/yards of gravel to extend my lane way, 60 yards of topsoil for the lawn, and cleared about an acre of weeds and shrubs with a 5' rotary mower.
I also bought a Kubota 65" snow blower which work like a charm, and a 72" finishing mower which I hope speeds up my mowing on 1.5 acres of lawn (as soon as the snow goes).
I also own 40 acres of bush about 30 miles away and plan to use it to help me move/cut firewood, and I'm having an 18' trailer built by the spring. I'm building a skidding attachment in my shop right now.
All in all a great little tool: Big enough for 90% of what I need, and small enough to use on the lawn (R4 tires) without sinking in.
