Smoke and Leaks Posted by Dick McConnell on 06/01/2013

As experienced zero turn user (+15 yrs) I thought the technology had improved to the point that all were nearly equal. Purchased low cost Yardman with B&S Intek 21 HP ZRT from Walmart expecting 5-10 years at 50-60 hours/year. At end of year 2 oil leak developed from loose ell at drain. Poor design prevented tightening ell. Started using oil as well. Checked and changed frequently.

By year 3 used one quart of oil per hour of use. Mechanically functioned well, engine was a BIG disappointment. Replaced with Toro MX.
