Wow is that a cool toy! Any idea what one of those babies cost? Given that it has wheels on the front, is that limited to "packed" snow conditions? I can't image it would do well off of a pre-prepared trail, but I'd bet it would tow or haul a whole bunch! Who makes it?

I drive it through some fairly deep powder, a foot or two, but when it's deep the cutters on the drag need to be lifted. It's actually not a great puller. We have some really good grades and at times we have to pull the cutters up and come back down the hill. This was the next step of the evolution of grooming. Clubs were using Skandics with homemade drags, or if the club had a lot of money they bought a used ski area groomer. New groomers are going for $130,000 so, this was much lower. THese are easily found for around 10,000 now. I don't know if they still produce them or not. ASV made them, the make the tracked skid steers (RC-30).
