Very nice. What is the wood used on the legs and trim? It's hard to tell on the lower res pics. I'd guess curley birch, but I'd probably be wrong.

The legs are turned from the posts as one piece. It's curly maple.

Beautiful work! How many years have you done this work? Most people my age (40) only look at mass production, i.e. quantity not quality. Your is work is very nice and thanks for posting your pics I enjoyed them... Bret

hi cliff,my names ron and im new to tbn just flippin through and seen your desk,very nice im also into woodworking,cutting all my joints by hand,no nails or sandpaper.you prob wont ever see this cuz the post is old but just wanted to acknowlege your fine work. take care. right now im workin on a purple heart and maple rail and stile dog table.possibly a little carving also.well cliff, hope to mayby talk to u sometime and share pics, ron

Thanks Ron. I'm looking forward to seeing you post some pictures of your efforts. I haven't gotten into carving. The craft part I'm OK at, but I'm not so good at the art part.
