1920 Ford
Excellent Machine, Best Tool I Ever Bought.
Model Year: 1990

I bought this tractor new in 1990 while building a house. I had an 8N that slid down a hill while mowing. Never again! This 4x4 never found a place it couldn't go. It runs an 8-foot field mower, post hole attachment, woods backhoe, and 8-foot scraper box. Anything I have asked it to do, it has done well. The loader has cleared a long driveway in many blizzards (I wish I had a cab) and has built several builds using a homemade boom stick to lift roof trusts. It is just a great tractor for its size. I wouldn't part with it.

Pros: Great power for its size
Cons: Can't think of any

Ford 1920 Amazing Good Tractor
Model Year: 1992

This is the best tractor I have ever owned. Several of my friends ask me to sell it to them all the time. I have had other Fords that were great and a John Deere 2010, but this is the best. I have bush hogged a 20 acre pasture, cleared land with very rough terrain, built three houses and horse stables, and it just keeps going. This tractor was used when I purchased it in 2000. All I have ever had to do was replace the starter water pump and a muffler. I have used it for hundreds and hundreds of hours. I wish they still produced this tractor.

Pros: Perfect size for 25 to 30 acres
Cons: After riding all day in rough terrain the seat could be more comfortable

1920 Ford
Best Tractor
Model Year: 1993

My father bought this tractor brand new when his Ford 8N with a loader on it died. We used to use this tractor to bale 5,000 bales a year with a NH 272 hayliner. It's a little light for a full wagon but hey, cut with a 7-foot haybine etc till - we got a TC55DA and TN75A. It starts in the coldest weather so it's great for logging. It has awesome power and is better than anything new in its class on the market today. Ours has a 12x12 super shuttle shift transmission.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Can't find too many for sale, and a full hay wagon tends to push a little

Ford 1920 4x4
Model Year: 1992

This is the best small tractor ever built! This is not a big tractor, but for me its perfect. I bush hogged twenty acres, cleared graded land for two houses. used it for landscaping, and used it for back filling everything!!! It's a work horse. I looked at trading it a few years ago but the new tractors just don't have the feel or power this one does. The tag reads FORD NEW HOLLAND built in Japan. The service manager at local New Holland dealer says built in 1992. I purchased it around 2002 , Most of my friends, as well as 90% of North Carolina, is John Deer country, however all that have used it say that's the best , strongest small tractor they have ever seen. The only problems ever : rebuilt starter, replace muffler, and a front drive leak that I have not fixed yet.

Pros: Best small tractor I have used
Cons: None

Good Unit
Model Year: 1994

This small tractor has plenty of power. However the rest of the unit is not built quite as strong as power provided. The replacement parts are rather expensive when you over work the tractor. Overall very good tractor.

Pros: Power.
Cons: Rest of tractor cheaply built.

1920 Ford
Ford Man (Tractors, Cars and Trucks)
Model Year: 1993

Started off with a Farmall Cub that my Dad bought. Traded the Cub for a 1945 9N Ford in 1962. Still have and use the 9N. Bought a Ford 1920 in '93. It has a loader and back hoe. Bought a New Holland TC30 in 2005. All three tractors have snow plows and rear blades (we plow one mile of road and 14 driveways off it). Other PTO equipment I have are: flail mower, wood chipper and, wood splitter. 3 point crane, rear scoop and grader with scafire. Tow behind DR Power Grader and dump trailer.

Pros: All I've done to the 1920 in 20 years is adjust the clutch once and replace the front tires.
Cons: 1920 doesn't like being on its side, did that once, I didn't like it either.

1920 Ford
The Best Tool
Model Year: 1996

I started with a 9N. It had more headaches than I did. I bought the 1920 Ford 4WD from the newspaper classified ads for $13,000. And when I first saw it I was eager to have it. It was outstanding. They had done all the regular scheduled maintenance and it was super clean. I have also kept up with the schedule and have been rewarded with the best tool on the place. There was a Ford front end loader and a 6' mower attached. I have a limestone base property and sometimes I'm over-matched trying to uproot one of the huge rock pieces but the 1920 is a good fit for me. I love it. It's not a closed cab and doesn't have A/C but I still love it. It's a basic tractor that gives great service. The 4WD gives it extra power! I've never taken it in for repair. I have taken components in to be rebuilt but I do most the repair and upkeep myself. I had goats for several years and planted oats and sudan for them. Never did any hay. I'd buy it again!

Pros: 4WD & ease of maintenance.
Cons: There are no cons. I can tear up more crap with this than ever.

Ford 1920

Bought this little jewel about two months ago. It has a front loader and a factory frame mount backhoe. It is a four wheel drive. Have used it to dig a four hundred foot water line, a two hundred foot electric line, and done some repair work on my leach lines. Has a 8 and 12 inch backhoe bucket. Have also dug some holes and planted some 1500 lb trees. So far, no complaints. Have to used a screwdriver to start it without a key, but my daddy did the same for over thirty years on his ford, so I guess its okay.

Pros: Factory frame mount backhoe does great, has enough power to handle most of the tasks I have asked of it.
Cons: Compared to a Kubota, does just as good a job, and saved thousands.

1920 Ford
This is a Great Tractor
Model Year: 1992

Ford 1920 is probably the best tractor I have ever had (I have a John Deer 1020). I keep it greased oil changed and always use diesel fuel cleaner. The only thing I have done in 8 years is put a starter on and a new muffler. I live in John Deer country for every ford or Massey there are probably 1000 john deers and even the John deer friends of mine say that my ford 1920 is unbelievable, they never knew Ford made such a good tractor.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: The seat sits higher than most tractors but I wish it was even higher.

1920 Ford
New to me and barely used
Model Year: 0

I purchased this tractor from a guy who kept it in storage most of it's life while he moved around. I had to have the clutch linkage repaired (block your clutch if you leave a tractor sitting for 5 years!) So far I don't have a single complaint; it handles great. I have done more work in one month with it than my John Deere M did in 4 years and loving every minute of owning it.

Pros: Great controls and manueverability; very comfortable; the power is great for a small tractor.
Cons: Wish he hadn't sold the backhoe attachment before I bought it.

1920 Ford
Nearly perfect compromise
Model Year: 1992

This little tractor has done an amazing amount of work for me. It's just about exactly the right size for this property and the kind of work I do with it - any smaller and it would be over matched, much bigger it would not be maneuverable enough. It's just barely big enough much of the time, but there have been few jobs where I really wished for more power. More weight would help sometimes though... The main problem is no tractor repair shops nearby, and getting parts can be a major hassle. I'm becoming a mechanic out of necessity. Fortunately, the tractor has been very reliable, only recently has anything gone wrong that wasn't my fault!

Pros: Great power for its size, maneuverable, & it's versatile.
Cons: The tradeoff for maneuverability is instability when carrying a load in the bucket and getting parts can be a nightmare.

1920 Ford
Can't find anything better
Model Year: 1989

It's a good tractor, what can I say? Very good on fuel, too. I put 4 chains on in the winter and plow a long steep road. It will plow uphill in 8th gear. The huge rear tires (14.9x24) hold 1000# of salt water, which is a good counterbalance for the loader.(I also use a very rugged 7' Hiniker rear blade which adds another 750#.) The loader will lift about 1700#. It has a 53" bucket, which holds 1/3 yard, or 1/2 yard heaped up. Bare tractor weighs 2900#. add loaded tires 1000#, the loader 1200#, and the heavy rear blade, or a 800# backhoe, and you have got a LOT of traction. I have also made a hydraulic top link which I love and will never again be without.

Pros: Good controls, rugged loader, diff. lock, steering brakes, power steering, block heater, glow plugs
Cons: can't think of any

1920 Ford
Ford 1920 tractor w/loader
Model Year: 1995

Very handy tractor. Built tough and heavy for it's size compared to other post 1999 thirty to forty horsepower tractors. A thirty two horsepower tractor that shares it's engine block with a forty eight horsepower tractor; that little known fact right there should breed Powerplant longevity and reliability. I have had three other tractors and am very happy with the performance and reliability of the Ford 1920. We will see in twenty more years if it will hold up like my old Massey 135.

Pros: Maneuverability, Power, Wieght, Economical in price and upkeep, That little storage box behind the seat.
Cons: Hydraulics could be better on this tractor, they are adequate and not at all an issue but as good as this tractor is in other respects, the hydraulics should have been given more thought.
