Honda Lawn Mower with Blade Clutch
Model Year: 2013
After my 18 year old John Deere SB (silver deck) had a handle weldment break, I bought the Honda. I wanted the blade clutch as I have many items to move around in the yard. I had to tape up the clutch handle bar with bicycle handlebar tape as it was too thin and uncomfortable. This works great! The mower has ample power, and mulches beautifully. It always starts on the first pull. It's easy on gas too. I got used to the Smart Drive in a few mowings. My biggest complaint is the Smart Drive failed August 02, 2014. It won't propel the mower and the drive wheels are locked up in reverse (pulling it backwards). The cable adjustment did not rectify the problem. The mower has been sitting at the dealer for two days now, and no response as to the solution. Meanwhile my grass grows...
Pros: Mulching, blade clutch, starting, maneuverability.
Cons: Smart Drive failure in less than a year.
