07 John Deere 3120-300CX, 447 backhoe, 60" 7-iron mid mower
Model Year: 2007
I bought this tractor used from my dad who bought it new in 2007. I previously had a 2000 JD 4300, 2002 JD 4310, 2005 Kubota L2800 and my first compact a 2004 JD 2210. So far I like it, don't really notice the lesser hp of my 4300. I love the looks compared to the older models it replaced. Not impressed with all the "China" cast into all the loader parts. The dealer put the loader masts on wrong and my dad never noticed. Cutting edge of bucket won't sit flat on level concrete. Axle seals leak a little and not happy about sand still on the axle knuckle casting from the casting process. The 447 backhoe seems to have around the same power as my 48 hoe on my old 4300 and 4310 but won't dig as deep. 1 swing cylinder on hoe leaked and was replaced under warranty, now the other one leaks and no more warranty. I hated the original E-hydros, but this one is much better than when they first came out. Loader and hoe come off in minutes, mower takes longer and tons more wrestling to get off but cuts excellent! The dealer sold me a new old stock deck for about a quarter of the price of an auto connect. When I bought it from my dad it had ag tires, I sold them and bought the big R4s, mower deck and the fancy brush guard which is a rip off for all the more you get. It seems pretty good so far, hope it holds up like my old 4300 (almost 1,000 hrs on it). The backhoe cylinders are smaller in diameter, but I am guessing that is because it is the smaller model of what I had. Bigger fuel tank is nice also. It is a little more difficult to see whats going on in front of you when using the loader because it sits up quite a bit higher. I will update this review the more hours I put on it. I got a heck of a deal on it so I can live without the horsepower, but John Deere's should never have anything on them from China. Its just not right.
Pros: The price I paid, it's pretty and capable, comfortable, mows great!
Cons: Workmanship, cock-eyed loader, and leaky axle seals.
