My Dad's Kubota B2150
Model Year: 1995
My dad gave me his tractor before he passed away, so it means a bit more than just the mechanics. However, here is an honest review. It had sat for a while while he was ill. Had to replace dry rotted tires, and fuel lines, crispy hydraulic lines, remove mouse nest from air filter, replace all fluids, filters, battery, clean out old fuel and clean gunk from tank, basically a good clean up and clean out job on everything. Then the test - glowed her up and she started like she loved me. Smooth running, great sounding, a pleasure. I am in love... She has a Bush Hog loader and a Woods backhoe. The backhoe is good for small stuff around our family farm. Have dug holes big enough to put in a septic tank, but need some patience with a big rock or root. Does not have great side to side strength for covering back up. Loader is good and sturdy and does a great job. The 4WD is helpful on our hilly terrain and in the snow. HST is good, but in mountains I really wish for a manual transmission. It doesn't always hold and moving my foot to break then to reverse or to forward makes me wish for a way to put a brake kit on it for the left foot. Yeah, then I might be pushing against the brake, but better than careening down the mountain... you would have to be here to appreciate... Overall if it weren't my dad's I would still by one and recommend it for any small farmstead.
Pros: Good size and strength and sturdiness for our mountainous terrain.
Cons: I am old fashioned and would prefer a standard trans to the HST
