Kubota Makes Fantastic Products
Model Year: 2018
Bought this tractor new after owning both a BX2230 and a BX2660. Let me say that the 80 series Kubota is a huge step up even from the 60 series. The seat is awesome! It is comfortable and has lots of cushion. It has no power take-off safety like the 1025R. It is all metal. The Kubota engine is quieter than the Yanmar and a lot smoother. The analog fuel gauge on dash versus the 1025R has the cheap fuel gauge built into the fender area. I compared the new BX2380 directly to the John Deere 1025R. The only thing i liked on the John Deere better was the twin pedal design. Otherwise, the Kubota was nicer in every way. It has more room for the operator, better control layout, better dash, easier loader, and way better mower deck design and adjustment. The John Deere guys brag about the auto-connect deck. That is a nice feature, however I read that 1025R owners hate the fact it only lifts up a little bit and the mowing height dial doesn't do much. On my BX2380 I can get true 1/4" height adjustments and my deck lifts way higher when I'm done mowing. The other thing compared to the John Deere nobody mentions is the 3-point is limited cat 1. The BX is full cat 1. Again, I compared these 2 directly to each other. I spent a lot of time at both dealerships, sitting, driving, using them. I thought maybe the John Deere would convert me, until I sat on the BX2380. After that, I realized the Kubota is a way nicer tractor for a lot less money. I guess there is a reason I've owned 3 BX tractors. Kubota makes a fantastic product and its built like a tank!
Pros: Nicer dash with fuel gauge, nicer loader, skid steer hookup, a lot nicer mower deck lift and adjustment
Cons: The treadle pedal, not that it is a bad design (I'm used to it) but I do like the twin pedal style
