Could anyone tell me what size of post hole digger can be used on a Kioti CK20S? I see many ads for Leinbach "JR" 7300 models along with the regular 7300 models - the JR being a bit smaller, I believe. I thought all cat 1 attachments were the same size so do I have to worry about the "smaller" versions? will the regular versions fit?

I'm no expert but I think the only difference is construction material thickness and the gearbox HP rating. If you have a shear pin it won't matter. If it doesn't exceed you max 3pt lift capacity get the bigger one.

By the way I run a full sized one on a 20 pto hp tractor.

Took this info from two different sites:

LEINBACH 7200 Post Hole Digger Jr, designed for the narrow hitch compact tractor. The top angle hook allows for the digger to be hung in an upright position for storage. The adjustable control handle (black rod) allows for positioning of the swinging gearbox from the tractor seat or a rear standing position away from the digger. Thus the auger can be positioned to dig a straight hole. The gearbox has tapered roller bearings, which run in oil. The one piece cutting bit is replaceable. The boom with its seven adjustment positions and the longer 3 point arch hitch allows for the Jr. Model to fit most compact tractors.

The main difference in this post hole digger and the L7300 is that the u-frame is made narrower (24 instead of 26? to where compact tractors can lift the length of the auger, and it can fit easily between the lift arms, it also has a shorter boom to help assist in the high lifts.

The L7200JR is NOT the same as the L7200. The L7200 is not designed for compact tractors. You can tell the difference between the L7200JR and the L7200 but looking at the u-frame, if the U-frame is yellow then it is a L7200JR (compact), if it is black it is the L7200 or L7300(full-size).

About two weeks ago I went and bought the Speeco PHD from Tractor Supply for my Mahindra 2310. It mounts up nice, but... the highest I could get the auger tip off of the ground was about two inches. Even after messing with the bolt hole placement a few times, the highest I could get the auger tip was that couple of inches off the ground.
Oh, I could have went higher but the cross bar that houses the fuel tank is in the way...

The problem is that the boom pole for the PHD curved upwards...

...then at the auger connection it curves down.

The problem isn't that I can't lift it higher!!!! When I decided that I would return it to TSC, it just so happened to be the same weekend my stepson came out to visit and I told him I was going to return it because I does lift high enough. Well being 24 years old and knowledgeable of all things in the world, he got the keys to the tractor and had already started the tractor before I could get there... oh silly me... "It goes higher, you didn't push the lever back far enough...."

I can't blame him though... I should have explained it all before he jumped the gun, or had the keys in my pocket.
He ended up bending the crossbrace into the fuel tank, thank goodness it's plastic and flexible. Thankfully, the bolts for the SMV sign mount didn't
extend below the bracket or it would have punch holes in the tank.

From looking at the Leinbach, which has a straighter boom, and the hoop mounts over the top of the boom, so it should fit better for my tractor. Now to find one in my area or find one online that won't charge a limb for S&H.

Which mounting hole did you use for the PHD (toplink)? Your tractor is laid out differently than mine. Some people make the mistake of using the same toplink hole for every attachment, not saying that this is your issue. Unless your on a grade, you really only need to make sure the auger is clear of the ground by a few inches.

Post hole diggers require very little horsepower to run. If it fits the category of your hitch it will work.

I tried different holes for the top link, and I did have the auger clear the ground by a few inches as I mentioned in my above post.

Post hole diggers require very little horsepower to run. If it fits the category of your hitch it will work.

I had the auger spinning and working fine, and no doubt it would make me some holes in the ground, if I tried. My big issue is the highest I could get the auger off the ground, without bending the bracket by the fuel tank, was about 2 to 3 inches. On uneven ground the auger would drag in the dirt while driving around. I didn't dig any holes because it would have been easy to tell I used it and maybe assumed I used it to dig my holes and now returning it, that wouldn't be right. If I was going to do that I would have rented one.

About two years ago I had borrowed a PHD from a friend and I did not have the clearance problem. I could have the auger 18 inches or so off the ground and no interference with the bracket at the back of the tractor. My friend has since sold his PHD and doesn't remember the brand. Even if he still had it there would be no way to ID it, as he was the type that didn't mind if his implements would lay out in the weather and rust away. It took me a couple hours to get it in shape to use as it was, because I had to file the ends of the splines to make them slip together.

So it's not an issue of this PHD won't work, it's which one will work correctly. I don't want to have to worry about bending that bracket each time I use it. Is there not another Mahindra tractor the same size of mine, that doesn't have the issue with a PHD? If so, which PHD are they using???

Inquiring minds want to know, especially mine.

This is an update on my situation.

I bought the LEINBACH 7200 Post Hole Digger Jr from ebay with the 9" auger. Got it two weeks ago, and I just got around to putting it together this last weekend. It works just great, and fits just fine. I can lift it all the way up without having to worry about hitting the rear bracket of the fuel tank on my tractor. With the straighter boom on it, the auger is 18 inches off the ground in the full up position. I'm happy with it!!!:D:D

Also, it was $100 cheaper than the one I initially bought at TSC. I was 100 miles outside of the free shipping area, so it cost me an extra $25. My total was $550.50 to my door with UPS.

Doesn't the 2310 have a "limited" CAT1 3PH? This would mean that some implements won't fit very well. That's probably what happened with your original PHD.
