Just bought a work light kit from BxExpanded. Does anyone know where the electrical connectors are located for an aux work light on the BX25? The fuse panel contains a 20 amp fuse for a work light, but I cannot locate the electrical connectors. I tried pplugging the work light into the rear tail light, but blew the 15 amp fuse - so no go on that.

BTW, if you don't have the backhoe trolley from BXExpanded - go get it NOW!

how did you plug it in the rear tail light ? there is a switched pigtail in the back of the BX. follow the taillight wireloom towards the middle of tractor until it reaches the Y part. there is a crimped connectors under black electrical tape.

Thanks. Guess I never thought to unravel the electrical tape. I'll have a look tonight. Do you happen to know the amps of the circuit available? If not, I'll test w/ a Multi.

BTW, I found out the hard way that the fuel pump and headlights are on the same circuit.... :(

On the BX2230 the work light wiring under the seat is part of the fuel shut off solenoid circuit, which is 20 amps. I'd wire in a 10 amp fuse for your work light so if it blows yo ucan still shut off the tractor. Unless your light is GIGANTIC, 10 amps should be enough. If it is really big or you have two, maybe go 15 amps.

I don't remember offhand the amperage. I need to get one of those WSM that has all this stuff. When I did my lights, I added a seperate whole new line to battery with inline fuse with a thicker gauge wire. I used the household 14/2 wire as it was a neater way of running wire. I wanted to keep the pigtail free for other 3pt power connections stuff like the sprayer I made.

That's not necessary. The lights are appropriately sized. The circuit is designed for worklights and is labeled "WORKLIGHT". Plug the lights into the connectors and go on your way.

Thanks to all for the advice. BXExpanded, please take a moment to update your product sheet to indicate the connection point for the benefit of others. Very nice products, but this part of the directions could be improved.

Since the Light Kit is designed to fit almost any tractor, large, small, red, blue, green or orange, we have a bit of problem with describing or picturing the location of the connectors. Almost all late model tractors have a connection for worklights somewhere at the rear but the location is different on the various models. The BX connection for instance, is at the rear center. One of the Bs is near the right tail light.
We'll try to find some way to provide the appropriate information in the future.
As always we appreciate your suggestions.

So if I understand this correctly, the BX has the electrical supply under the seat, so all you have to do is attach a switch between that connection and the lights and voila? (Not much into electrical)

If you're referring to the BXpanded Worklight kit, the lights and the switch are already wired and ready. Just plug in the two connectors and you have lights.
