R4 Traction Master
Right front started going flat after four or five months.

It's not a slow leak. Bad bead/rim or valve stem. It can sit for weeks without losing air or it can go nearly flat over night. Just depends on where the wheel stops when I park it. I've just been dealing with it but it is a pain.

...

Just checked the make on the tires and now I think the problem may also be one or both of the splits in the sidewall. Maybe they're more than superficial. Although I think they were caused by running flat due to an existing leak.

As there can be differences in tire diameter between brands even with the same rating, I really don't like to have different brands on a machine that is used in 4WD a lot. I really don't want to spring for a new set of tires for a tractor that is less than a year old.

of course not, none of us do BUT unless you are ok with filling them every time you use the tractor its the cheapest way. i was looking into all kinds of solutions but then i found out that the cost for a front carlsile brand tire was only $26 mounted it was a no brainer!!

Well, so far it hasn't cost me a cent and I am on my third tire wheel combination. I guess I am just stubborn and think this should be taken care of by the dealer/manufacturer and so far Davis has been very helpful. Now how long this will last is another matter in which case I may go the Carlisle route. Did you order them or buy locally? Did you get a set or just one tire?

So far my latest tire is holding air, but due to the weather I haven't put it on my tractor yet.

i just went locally to the tire shop that i get my car tires from. had it next day. i didn't change all of them, just the one i had problems with. i'm sure within the next year they will all be changed. the side walls on all of them are dryrotted pretty bad. the sidewalls were pissing out air through every little crack.

I also have a front left tire leaking on my new B3030 with maybe 2 hrs? I haven't used the tractor since I parked it in the garage, but the front tire goes down in less than a day. I can hear the leak at the bead/rim, and know right where it is. I just haven't had time to dismount it and check it out. Kind of a downer on a brand new tractor, but I'm sure it will be resolved with no issues. I just hate taking it to the tire shop where they beat it up trying to get the tire off!

Anyone know if a tool is made to help with the dismount of these tires...or any tire as far as that goes....? I can break the bead and look at the rim and tire to see if there is any damage, but it would be nice if I could do it all...short of buying a $10,000 tire shop machine!

Thanks,
Jeff

Regular tire irons.
There is (/was) an excellent article on Gempler's web site showing how to dismount/mount FULL SIZE tractor tires with hand tools.
The BIG DEAL is getting the opposite side of the bead into the well.
By doing it on the tractor (with the wheel vertical) you can DROP it in there and it is likely to stay.

Beware of people who tell you to use any number of different explosive techniques to blow a tire back onto the rim.
See U-tube for examples of anything from ether and gasoline to hair spray and propane - example of how not to.
