I bought an old spike-drag harrow at auction cheap. Chained it to disc and pull it behind to smooth and level. Around here people use a piece of old chain link fence just wider than the disc. Attach some pipe on top if you need more weight.

Here's a couple of pics of the one I made last year. Used some steel that was laying around and bought some 5/8" rod for the spikes. Materials cost about $150 and is IMatch ready.:D

39 years ago back in 1971 i hired a dozer to grade off my 2.33 acres.
I have lived here since 1966.

The dozer operator found this spike harrow
burried in a bunch of weeds on the upper left side of my property .
When the dozer was finished I hired a local farmer to plow and disk it then hooked the harrow up tp my 1966 Bolens which i still have BTW and smothed and leveled everything out.
After i was done with the Harrow i put it away in the carport where it has remained for the last 39 years.
That's the end of my harrowing story and I'm sticking to it!

It was some where in the area around the base of the pine tree to the right of this building and the base of the white tree shown about the center of the little building.

Thanks for posting that. It looks like it would do a good job. I've disc'd everything twice. Still working on getting some type of drag/harrow to smooth it out. Was looking to see if we had an old cattle guard laying around and try to use that. I couldn't find one though.

I need to figure a way to lift it with the 3 point so I can trun around at the end of the row.

It sounds like you need a 10 foot box scraped. That will level everything very nicely, disk it once or twice then hit it with the box scraper.

That's very nice. I built one drag last week. Not as nice as yours, but it is working for me. Will post pics once it stops raining.
