The Taurus was called a "Judge", apparently a lot of judges keep one hidden in their robes.

Actually, it was called a "Judge" because the Taurus marketing department hoped people would leap to that conclusion. It was given the name before a single revolver had been sold, so obviously no real Judge kept one on his person.

I keep hearing this myth and have to say it is very persistent, and the marketing department is clearly very good.

The guy who thought that up had just made his first million selling ice cubes to Eskimos ;)

In Alaska they like them for bear protection, and a survival gun for birds. I am not impressed. I think any one who uses one of these for bear protection should have the front sight removed

It will hurt less when the bear sticks it....

A novelty gun, and they are selling a lot of them

Speaking of revolvers, how do you like this idea.

Without a doubt, it will decrease "roll up" of the revolver, as it places recoil impulse lower, BUT, in .357 magnum it will feel worse as the recoil all comes back straight back into your hand.. The "roll up" of a revolver helps to dissipate some of the recoil energy over time vs. getting all the recoil impulse all at once straight back. So you are trading pain for quick follow up shot (re-acquired sight picture). .357 magnum has always had a kinda snappy recoil impulse anyway. Not saying this is all bad, you would just have to shoot it and find out if you liked it or not.

Ever heard the old saying "beware of the man with just 1 gun, because he knows how to use it."?

No, but I like it

Couldn't give it to me.

Agree

Also agree, especially with the front site comment

My first thought was simply, why?

Anyone got a .410 now? I don't see to many around anymore.

Talk about deja vu all over again. Seems like I just read this same discussion in Soundguy's thread asking about a "Cop .45 Derringer".
:D

The .45 ACP is "rimless" and would need moon clips for cylinder functionality.

Thats why God made the 625
