I started this thread....

You call US silly...and you have that SILLY NAME YOURSELF...why on earth would you choose it, not being critical but it makes me laugh when I read it....

Want to reveal why you chose it? BTW, I started the same thread title over on www.lawnmowerforum.com and so far nobody there has called us silly....

Oh great, now my 22hp riding mower is strutting around the machine shed puffing out its grill because it now thinks it's a CUT! I hate to think what will happen to it's ego when it backs up to the 2 bottom plow...

Thanks to all who have contributed, this is making my sick day (home from work) much brighter  as I have opportunity to read my favorite forum, TBN.
Does the personality and/or attitude of the "tractor" (Ford tractor's quote above) lend to the classification of what type of tractor it is? :) Surely that must play into it!

When I first started looking at a tractor, I was thinking of a garden tractor, with loader, 3 pt hitch, etc. The dealer explaoined to me that I could buy a SCUT for less than the garden tractor with the same implements! And have more capacity to boot. Same horsepower, same diesel engine. The distinction seems more for product positioning in the marketplace than anything else.

Actually, this thread was .........'silly'..............

You left out an entire class of tractors...............what they call SUBCUT. aka: Sub Compact Utiliy Tractors.

There ain't no comparison between a 'Garden tractor' and a Compact Utlitity Tractor.(two entirely different machines)!
