Just painted the toothbar I made not long ago for my BX25. It got pretty rusted up recently, when it was bare steel, so now after painting it I thought I'd take a few pictures before I began sticking it in the ground and messing up the paint job until it starts to look the way it's supposed to look.

Looks real nice !
I see you mounted bolts in a slightly different location on bucket.
Which for a tractor of that size will be just fine IMHO. ;)

Even though I used grade 8 - 1/2" bolts, they really don't have much structural stress on them. The shanks of the teeth, curling around and under the bucket, are flush against the leading edge of the bucket, and all the force from digging is there, rather than on the bolts. The bolts are primarily to prevent the bar from falling off when the bucket is in dump position...and they also keep the bar locked in place when back dragging.......but 99% of the load force is transferred direct from bar to bucket when digging.

If you're willing - what was your source and cost for the teeth? Looks great!

APease.....here's a link to a post I made on the TBN welding forum back a few months ago when I first built the toothbar this winter, before I painted it.....

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/2277272-post36.html

One thing I probably didn't mention in that post was that I used two 3/16" x 48" pieces of steel stock from TSC, which I then doubled up to make a single 3/8" piece by welding all around the perimeter. I realized that a single 3/16" piece would be too flimsy. I then trimmed it down to 46 & 1/2" to fit inside the BX25 FEL bucket (and welded the ends to seal off all edges)

It was my first welding project, and I ran into a warpage situation, and the guys on the welding forum had lots of great advice, since I had no idea at the time that warping is a common problem with welding......if you're interested in seeing the whole thread, this is it....

When I was making my toothbar, I copied a lot of ideas from an earlier post by Tachdriver, who had made a really great looking toothbar......here's a link to his original post, with his pictures of his design, if you want to see a better job than what came out of my own efforts....

Hi Ct jay:

Could you provide details on the clamp on bucket hooks/brackets on top of bucket. These look similiar to what bxexpanded sells (which I have 3 SOMEWHERE in garage). Would like 2 do something similar but use on grapple to make quick removalable.

Thanx Pat R

Dah after looking at your profile see they are bxexpanded didn't remember seeing brackets there just hooks guess some digging in garage this weekend is in order. lol

They are indeed BXpanded products that you saw on my FEL. Can't remember what was in the pictures I posted of my tooth bar, but currently I have 3 hooks (one a slip hook, in center) and two clamps for BXpanded's pallet forks. All are listed on their website BXpanded.
