Anyone ever use a BX loader to push t-posts in? My shoulders have been giving me a fit today and I need to put a few posts in tomorrow. I'm kinda doubting the BX has enough front end weight to handle the job, but I thought I'd ask.

Maybe add a good load in the bucket and do it that way.

OMG! ROFLMA!

Come out here; only way to drive them at my place right now is to make a starter hole with the electric jackhammer  Load the generator in the loader, drive out to where you want a post. Make starter hole. Then, an hour later you will have the first post driven. IF, you don't run in to rock an bend it :D

It's storming to beat the band right now and the runoff generally goes through the area where I want the posts, maybe the ground will be softer tomorrow. I'll get a scoop of gravel in the bucket and see how it does. I'll probably end up taking a handful of ibuprofen and using the shoulder wrecker instead.

I push T posts in with a small Skid Steer (about 6500 lbs.) About the only time I have issues is in rocky ground. Sometimes a little tweeking on the post is required to get it level/vertical. Second person is very handy with this operation.

I use my pallet forks for pushing in t-posts. I'm afraid of bending the loader bucket by using it for that purpose.

That's what I was afraid of. All that pressure on a small area of the bucket. I'm feeling pretty good this morning, so I'm just using the regular manual driver. I only have 6 or 8 to do anyway.

Edit... what I'm calling T posts aren't actually T posts either. It's those stamped metal posts with the punched out tabs you hammer down on the wire. I'm putting poultry fence up.

I've seen t-posts pushed into slightly damp soft ground with the FEL on a TLB, but all I could do with the FEL on my B series tractors was pick up the front wheels.
