Today was my first day working with Kubota and I found a little 'glitch'

Of course the Kubota comes with a 2 inch receiver in the front and rear.

I have several different Reese hitches.

The front receiver is 'open' all the way through so there is no issue fitting the hitch in the the receiver.

BUT the rear receiver is 'short'-my hitch could not go in far enough to fit the pin so it stayed connected.

Am I missing something?

Two choices that I know of for the "short hole". Cut part of the shaft off or stick the shaft in and drill a hole where it's needed on the shaft. Maybe stick the shaft in and mark it with a marker then drill the hole where marked. Welcome to that's just the way it is, may be a reason but don't matter, that's the way it is.:thumbsup:Accept it and move on.:)

Well at least it is a common issue and not just mine!:)

How in the world to you cut or drill on metal like that. I don't think I have the tools/machine strong enough to do that.

Maybe your neighbor does if you aren't anti-social.

Belhavenfarm. I was also caught off guard by the short depth on the rear receiver. I you will be traversing ditches or small creeks, consider cutting the ball holder to a shorter length. If the ball holder sticks out too far, it may drag the ground when the rear tres drop into the ditch or creek, etc.

For what its worth, I cut the shft off using a chop saw. Took about 30 seconds, the much longer to file off the sharp edges.

Sawzall works also

I did one that way and the other one with a metal bandsaw....both ways were quick and painless.

Any decent drill with a metal bit will drill it. Any saw with a metal cutting blade will cut it. Blades and bits are common and cheap to buy. Wal Mart or any Auto parts store will have them. Go to any auto parts store that sells "stuff" for ATVs as well as KMrat or Wal Mart and you can find the Reese hitches. Do like the one from the page you sent but shipping costs are killers. Amazon also has free shipping on items they stock for over $25 purchases.
