About 3 months ago I lent my BX25 to a friend to move some rocks. I found out a few days later that a stick had gotten stuck into the HST Fans Fins and broken some of them off. My friend quickly turned off the machine and replaced the broken fan with one from the local Kubota shop. He tells me the replacement was a nightmare and took many hours to replace a simple $20 part. So here's my problem. I have 300 hours on the machine (which I love) so I consider myself an expert when it comes to MY MACHINE. I know how it sounds, how it feels and how it drives.
The day after getting it back from my friend I noticed a slight vibration when strain was placed on the engine, (kind of the feeling you get in your bum when a PTO is running). It seemed to be only when using the FEL but that may have been just because thats what I was doing at the time. Ive had a look over the machine and didnt find anything, Ive actually even put about 30 hrs on her since all of this and things do seem to be WORKING FINE.
Perhaps Im being wireded out by someone else pulling her apart without me being there but I just cant let it go. The vibration hasent gotten worse (I dont seem to notice it much now but that might be because Ive gotten use to the NEW NORMAL) nor completely gone away.
I asked my friend about it because he is a fairly good back yard mechanic and he assures me the replacement was very time consuming but a simple one to do, even if the engine did have to be shifted forward to do the job.
Is there anything I can check myself that might help me sleep through the night? Ive considered taking it back to the dealer but I dont even know what to tell them, and Im sure it would cost of several hours of labor. Any help or advice would be great.
