Any of you re-build a torch regulator?

Thanks, I was not planning on oiling it, but didn't even think about the O2 vs oil thing. So would a de-greaser type like Simple Green be ok? I use that for just about everything.

No Simple Green. I would say pick up a spray can of "Gun Scrubber" at Walmart or a Fleet store that has guns. You Need a solvent that evaporates and is gone. Try not to get any on the rubber or plastic parts.

I use electrical contact cleaner. It leaves no residue and is compatible with most o ring material and plastics.

Dynaflux 365-16 Safety Solvent is used by regulator rebuilders.

It uses dichloromethane and alcohol.

Gun Scrubber uses hexane and alcohol, which is IMO probably fine but I can't find any references for it being in oxygen-safe protocols. It's used in electronic cleaning.
I'll try some on my guns though.

Use all solvents in well-ventilated areas and Google the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for anything you may contact or inhale.

Safety Solvent is the coolest degreaser. I have 2 5gln cans. Non Flamable too.

Dichloromethane = methylene chloride. Same thing, different name. Not something you want to breathe or get on your skin... Yeah I know people used to "bathe in it" but we have learned better over the years. As long as you wear good gloves, a proper respirator and -especially - have good ventilation it should be fine.

I could be wrong but the 2 cans I have say something like Trichlorathane? and below that it says Safety Solvent and Non Flamable. Made by a company named Crown. 1 Whiff will back you right up but it cleans like nothing I have ever tried. The Feds put a ban on it in the early 90's stating that it killed the ozone. Cleans like nothing else..

Trichloroethane. Otherwise known as "Tri-chlor" That is exactly what it is used for - degreaser. What they mean by safety solvent is that it is non flammable vs most cleaning solvents which were very flammable, but it is still pretty nasty stuff - it just won't burn.
