I think if you cut things at the right time of the year that reduces some of the hassle of possibly having to big of a bushhog as well for the most part.

I use an 8ft pull-type behind a M5040,no problem at all. 3 point gonna say 7ft max, just cause of weight. I have used our 12ft pull-type in lighter stuff, but havent tried it in heavier stuff yet.

will the pull behind allow you to go on steeper inclines?

Why can't you convert a bushhog into a pull behind. With some fancy wheel attachment gizmo

Sure you can, just need, cutting torch, welder, hyd.cylinder, and a few pieces of pipe and brace material and have at it....Will need to find longer pto shaft... LP3596.jpg here is a pics of mine for you

We went from a 3PH Woods 121 to a pull type DS1261 and even though it is heavier, it is more stable on slopes going up/down as well as across side slopes. Unlike foreman Etexas, ours hooks to the draw bar rather than 3PH; never used a semi-mount, so I don't know anything about them.

Naw,TripleR the picture was just taking up close. It does hook up to drawbar,I think they just have a standard deck with the semi-mounts from factory already on there.I guess you could use it as a semi-mount with shorter shaft but dont know how rear tires wouldnt dig in while turning since rear tires are fixed.

Yep, should have noticed the rear tires. We thought about a semi mount, but couldn't really see any advantage to it.

Why not just put guage wheels on the front and leave the toplink disconnected.

No need for an expensive longer PTO shaft

Your saying set it up like a finish mower,basically...

similar.

Instead of pulling from a drawbar, just pull from the lower links. When mowing, have the 3PH all the way down and let it "float".
