I accidentally locked it with my foot when backing up and the panic set in quick when the joystick froze. UGH. All better now.
Why did they put the loader valve lever lock there!?

Oh my
! The safety police will be all over you. It is not safe to be under a loader supported only by the hydraulics. A hose could burst at any time causing the loader to rapidly fall.

'Long as you didn't have the FEL maxed out, it's nothing to worry about.
Our orange back-saver is a B2320, new this past July, and we're protective as all heck, so if that happened to either of us, we'd've wet ourselves too.
I don't think either of us has the required knee flex to do what you did...
But both my boss [wife] and I have caught all sorts of clothing on the PTO levers as we climb down off of it- an if'n it's runnning, the grinding gear sound makes you wanna cry...
I guess I should've boughten a bigger tractor so I had the room to dismount safely.
To: the other respondents- he dint aks why it had a lock for the hydro- just why is it where your foot can lock it unbeknownst to yourself...
The spool lock is NOT for locking up the loader for service. you need to block the cylinder for that. the lock is more of a convenience so that you don't bump the stick and dump something out of the bucket or similar action.
