update - removed the cylinder and the rod pulled right out....You can see where it broke

I think I am going to order from VN1(little more $$) to assure I get the correct cylinder but I thought I would post up the measurements I took off the one good one I have for posterity:

Stroke: 11 1/2"
Cylinder Diameter (not Bore): 1 15/16"
Rod Diameter: 1"
Retracted - Center of eye to center of eye: 20 1/8"
Extended - Center of eye to center of eye: 31 3/4"
Eye hole: 3/4"

Looks like Surplus center has a match with a 12" stroke. Part number 9-7270-12.

I wouldnt even bother with VN.
Just go to Bailey Hydraulic....Google them for the web address.
They will have the cylinders..cheaper than the VN.
Measure with the bucket at the full curl in(center to center) and the the with of the tee ends and then the rod diameter.
I repaced mine after they were leaking...did the same as you, looked at Northern Tools, also had to contact VN three times before they responded back....only to find out they were the most money.

Do you have the V2 loader? If you replaced the curl cylinders, do you have a part # with bailey?

I have to say....I called VN1 Tractor on Monday, ordered and had shipped same day. Received on Wednesday via Fedex ground. I then brought the new cylinder to a hydraulics shop to see if they could match it up and to get a T so I can add a temporary pressure gauge to test the system.

They said it looked like a quality cylinder but custom made due to the size of the end cap welded on and zerk fittings already installed...for what that is worth. In any event - they remeasured the rod and case and its a metric cylinder (no surprise there

- OD of the cylinder is 50mm and the rod is 25mm. the pin is 3/4". Hope that helps if anyone else needs the info.

I posted this over in the Hydraulics section as well....but any idea why when I installed a pressure guage into the system that I received a ~2100 psi reading with the curl bcuket all the way down and only 600 psi max when all the way up?

I wonder if there is an adjustment on the curl spool valve to either set the center or the over travel is all I can think, it is a 1 stick yes and not 2?

The other thing that comes to mind visually is the gage is in the extend port so maybe there is something in that end of the cyl that hasn't sealed yet or maybe putting the gage in the pressure "in" port on the joystick control would give better measurements?

In a stroke of genius caused by my own stupidity....I started thinking....that shouldn't I measure the pressure on both sides of the cylinder????

When I moved the guage to the other cylinder port...whammo - 2100 psi. the 600 psi must be the back presssure the cylinder see's when on the return side.

I don't understand why you would have 600# back pressure unless the 3 point is someway loaded. If your 3 point is unloaded your back pressure should be close to zilch, nada. Maybe a few pounds, but not much.
