Go to TSA and buy a Shepard's Staff and cut it to the length you want. Anything gets in your way it won't stay there long.

That's what I have but I also have ausses with me and use the stick for them and hearding! The other short stick I carry on my hip is the one vermin need to watch out for! :D

I have recently been given some fiberglass walking sticks (Nordic, as I recall) that are similar to the sticks used for cross-country skiing. I don't use them for varmits - I have a sheathed machete for that - just walking. However, for an older guy with weak ankles, they are wonderful at keeping me vertical as I walk up and down the steep hills on my farm. Two sticks gives you great stability on leaf-covered, sloping, rocky ground - and I've got a lot of that.

I think that in some States, that would be considered a "concealed weapon"? Perhaps, it would be in the Buyer's best interest to check in regards their State Law Enforcement Statues. There may be also local ordinances to consider. Just a thought? The reason that I mentioned this, is because a fellow worker of mine years ago had one behind the seat of his pickup and he was charged and convicted.

This could be a shady area. I don't believe the stick by itself would be considered a deadly weapon, but I do agree depending on how a person presented it may be an issue. If your fellow worker had been a young college girl would she have gotten the same charges? Reason I write that is because there was a time yrs back(The Bundy days) that it was even suggested girls have something like this.

I used an authentic Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick for many years, but now use crutches, very good item.

I have carried a handgun for close to forty years now, but there are times when a good stick is preferable to deadly force.

I don't know how I ever beat Bird on this post, but I'm sure he's gonna recommed a Bubba-Stik.:D About anything you whack with that hame ball on the end of the stick will be convinced to go away.

Also, a popular wood for walking sticks here in Texas is Crape Myrtle.

:laughing::laughing:Yep, I carry mine when I take the dog for a walk, and even sometimes when I just go to the mall. And while I like Amazon for a lot of things, I've bought at least 4 Bubba Stiks a whole lot cheaper at Love's Travel Stops.
