The premixed stuff sold in stores is basically so weak and watered down I never buy it, instead I go to TSC when they are having a sale on a gallon of 50% glyphosate (sp?) weed and brushkiller mix, then use an ounce or an ounce and a half of that per gallon of water. The gallon costs about $60 even on sale but I can get at least 80 gallons of spray out of that $60 gallon. If anybody knows of a more effective weedkiller that costs less please tell us what you use and where it can be obtained. Thanks.

That's a great deal jbar. TSC's store brand "Big-n-Tuff" is another excellent value. It has surfactant mixed in and it can't get anymore concentrated. I mix it 4gal at a time in a back pack sprayer and go through about one 2.5 gallon bottle (of concentrate) a year. My place would be a jungle with out it. OOPS late post.

I use the TSC 50% glysophate around my prop to keep the kudzu at bay, and it does the trick. I tried some other herbicides (fancier ones, 'tree-friendly' ones, etc) and the 'zu just laughed at them. It doesn't laugh any more...

But, as you know, glysophate kills everything...'broad-spectrum' doesn't begin to cover it. Be careful where you spray and which way the wind is blowing.

EDIT: that HD link is a great deal! Thanks for posting it!

JD -Home Depot, on line only with free shipping sells a weed, grass and brush killer for $34.00 or so...It is called " Compare and Save..." that is for 2&1/2 gallon of concentrate and it is 41% glycophosphate

I have used it for 2 yrs. now...It kills everything for 1 whole year...I love it but it does take 2 or 3 wks to kill since it kills the roots not just he green leaves...

JD - First let me correct the brand name ...it is ( Compare N Save ) so when you do your search on Home Depot it will be correct.

1&1/2 oz. per gallon of water..I followed that exact one and one half ounces to the gallon and I use a 15 gallon tank sprayer ...it really works great...On the label they claim 3 to 4 days to kill...It wilts in 3 to 4 days but I promise you after 2 or 3 weeks it is dead...dead and dead for one full year...that has been my experience...

Wow, the concentrated glyphosate containers are gettin' cheaper all the time. I bought the 2.5 gallon Big N' Tuf version at TSC for $50 or $55, & see that it's now ~$40. For HD to have it for $40, man it's really comin' down now.

I mixed mine in my 25-gal sprayer & traveled my 3,400' fenceline in my Mule spraying the entire way. Would be a little easier with someone else driving, but still worked very well. Prob took an hour. Took 3-4 weeks for everything to be really dead. Will have to look to see what mix I used.
