Which tires did you buy for your Kioti

I went with Ags, we have clay soil and lots of hills so even in 4wd I can find lots of slopes where I use all the grip of R1's with diff lock if its a bit damp, so R4's wouldn't be much good once the sharp edges wore off.
I find as well that the fronts do fine with a heaping load of dirt or gravel, but I guess you could overload them with pallet forks or a grapple. The lawn is definitely off limits though but that's OK.

The real question is... what oddball(specialty) use requires that you NOT use R4 tires?

Logging (not firewood or dragging some pulpwood like you see on here... real 2 tons to the drag semi-professional logging) with a 2wd tractor.

Ag's are good...... R2 Rice and Canes are best.

I had a choice between Agriculture or R4 Industrial tires. I choose industrial tires because my use for the tractor is mainly for bush hogging. I am planning to do some tilling in the future, so I was stuck deciding which one I needed the most. I also felt the the agriculture tires would tear up the turf more.

Which tires did you buy with your tractor and why?

Most CUT owners are going to prefer the R4's by a wide margin.


They stink in wet conditions or tilling, but shine on hard pack, lawns, doing dirt work, mowing, grading, etc...... you know stuff people use a CUT for 95% of the time.

I hope you don't get the wrong opinion from some of the posts. I have a dk 45 with r4 tires I traded a Massey 271 xe for it with ag tires for normal operations like pulliing huge logs and digging in the solid Dirt there's not that much difference between the 2 the ag tires will have some added traction but I pull a 61/2 foot the disk in 2 nd gear on medium transfer with no problem and cpuld do it in 3rd . You won't be dissatisfied with r4 and I personally think there more stable.

My primary use (probably 95%) will be mowing an old hay pasture, with a secondary use of garden work. My loader use will be mostly incidental. I chose R-1s, which was unusual at my dealer (and yours, Boomer) - he always sells them with R-4s. I chose mine because of my usage, and had them loaded because of occasional loader use.

With a loader, I would always want my tires loaded, and weight on the three point hitch as well. As I get more experience, if I feel the rear end is still a little light, I will add wheel weights and more weight on the three point hitch. HTH.

Another thing to consider is soil compaction. As I recall, the R1s are always real skinny and of course have those deep lugs. Perfect recipe for maxiomizing soil compaction and causing ruts over the years. The wide and flat R4 is only second to turf tires for prefventing these ruts.
