I don't know if it's like this on the B2620 or the Hydro versions but what a PITA this was and a mess. I had a small pan ready and as soon as I saw the oil spreading across this cross member I grabbed the nearest thing wide enough to capture it all.

They put this cross member for the Front Loader right across the bottom of the oil pan.

Not sure if it is structural or a guard for the drive and oil pan or both.

But they could have at least put a hole in it so you could put a socket up there and drain it reasonably. I may do that in the future.

Absolute idiots that designed this.

Think that's tough, try removing the radiator drain plug on a BX25. I challenge any mere mortal to do this without removing the engine.

That's exactly how it is on the B2620. If you do it on an incline, it will at least run down only one side of the cross member.

Yeah, it's bloody irritating changing the oil on the 2320. Excellent idea about doing it on a bit of an incline to get the drained oil to fall in one direction (wheel chocks recommend of course).

I used a large plastic mortar mixing pan as an oil pan - worked pretty well, but much more surface area to clean than a regular oil pan, and still a pain to clean spent oil atop the FEL brace, etc. Was thinking about drilling a hole in the brace, but didn't feel comfortable with that option, not knowing how much it would compromise strength.

Pela Oil Extractor.

I just serviced a b2620 today and I had the same thoughts that you had. I know that the notches on either side of the cross brace roughly line up with a different model's double crankcase drain plugs but they totally missed this one.

maybe a piece of foil to work as a deflector? while on a slight incline with the wheels blocked?

Changing the oil filter in my Dakota is worse.

No such thing as perfect! :D

Slipping something in there might work.

It's kind of tricky getting the plug out with nothing in the way as it is.

I usually like to change oil when modestly hot. Now way on this thing.

I think Kubota should send us bracket with a hoel in it.

How hard is it to get the FEL guard or brace off. Does anyone have a template so a hole can be drilled into it for easier oil changes? I mention this because Kubota is now selling a brace with a hole in it as replacement. Wondering why we would have to buy it?
