Well here's the update. A John Deere 60 carb will not run on a 50 series tractor. The throttle size of a 60 is the same as a 730. To much air not enough room make up the ratio. So now we shall track down a 50-530 carb and start all over. Thank you all for helping

Sorry for the bad news. You can get a new carb from Stiener tractor part for roughly $250. Good luck.

It would help if we knew exactly what you cobbled together. What head and manifold? What cam? The power-bloc compression ratio should have 91 octane.
Mag or distributer ? Timing curve?
Have you tried it without the air cleaner ?

Well it a 50 power block 5" pistons with a 50 head with new valves and springs distributor for a 50 we have a k&n air filter on the end of the 1 into 2 intake. gas intake manifold. Straight pipe exhaust. I notified Poppin John about our problem and he said a 60 carb will never adjust out enough to run a 50. So we order a rebuilt 530 carb. So we will see how she reacts to that.
