Buying Advice Any reason not to buy a new 2520?

I don't have one but am impressed on what they are capable of from member posts who have them. What dealer are you going to?

You won't get anything negative from me. You're one of the lucky ones that actually found one of the "now discontinued" models. I would definitely opt for the "older" 2520,than the new 2R where the engine comes into play. The new Tier 4 engines will have emissions crap. If I could help it......... No Thanks!:thumbdown: On the other hand,there will more than likely be positive improvements to the tractor itself. Probably like the additional "goodies" on the new 1 Series. Another big plus,will be the improvement on the new 270 BH to make it much more user friendly. There is more than likely going to be a significant jump in prices too. So,depending on what is important to you,it may pay to weigh all your options.

I'm glad you brought up improvements... The dealer is telling me that the 270A BH should fit the 2520, but I still haven't heard of anything more on the 270 and I'm not all that fond of the current 46 model and the way it mounts. I really like what the 2520 has to offer (no emissions crap is a plus) I just want a better BH offering when the time comes and hope that I can always order factory new parts for the 2520.

I loved my 2520. I have not one thing bad to say about it. And if the 2r is pretty much the same as the 1r just bigger I would take the 2520 hands down. And with the 2r costing more than the 2520 I would have no problem picking. I miss my 2520 and someday will own another for little projects and for things I need maneuverability .

The only good reason not to buy it is to buy a bigger machine. Always seems to be the regret of most buyers.
I have one and love it buy sometimes feel that I would like the bigger tractor.
As for the 270 BH, last I heard it wasn't coming out.
