A little update on the truck! Haven't had much time to work on it. I have put new front rotors and break pads on it! And I finally got the steering box out today! Boy they don't leave much room to get the hoses off when there is a big block in there! Hopefully I can get the new one in tomorrow! After closer inspection of the truck I am going to need to get sum new upper a arms the bushing in them are shot! It looks like they put new lower ones on recently why the didn't do the top? Well hope you all are having a good day! Its over 70 here on the third of Dec. Crazy!

With all that work, its going to be a "new", old truck. Ha. Used nous today to haul firewood. Had to install a new door after a run in with a tree, but no big deal.

That's gonna turn out to be a fine old truck! I'd be proud of it myself.

If I go out in the morning after it has set a wile it fires rite up but if I drive it somewhere shut it off come back thirty mins later its hard to start? It is a vortex 7.4 454ci thanks

If the check valve at the fuel pump is bad it can cause a 'vapor lock' type condition, common in some vehicles.

I second the fuel pump. The check valve leak will also cause the first start issues after sitting. Try cycling on the key for 3 second intervals a couple times before cranking and see if that helps.

my buddy had the exact same engine in a suburban, and the fuel pump went on that thing a few times...seemed to be a weak point.
other wise, the truck was bulletproof.
huge amount of torque
