IIRC, we got the Trucoat Plus (this one: Graco TrueCoat Plus Handheld Electric Airless Sprayer). The neighbor has the same model, but his is cordless and has the Fine Finish setup for it as well.

That thing sprays latex okay? I had not looked at the cup models much because it looks like on a large job there would be a lot of wasted time stopping and starting refilling the cup.

Two items
1. Don't buy a cup model to spray a building--you will constantly be refilling.

2. I bought a Cambell Hausfield about 18 years ago. Sprayed a half dozen houses, garages, etc. and the only thing I have had to replace is a small filter (about $1.00) Probably wouldn't have to do that if I cleaned it better. It is still going strong. Costs around $350 now.

We sprayed ~30 gallons of Valspar Latex (cant remember their name for it, but it was the good stuff) and ~5 gallons of Kilz2 (rolled the rest of the Kilz). Worked great.
You get 3-4 minutes per 32oz cup. They also sell a 48oz one (pn: 24E375) and a 1 gallon backpack (Graco ProPack Portable Spray Pack).
If doing much ceiling work, I would get their extensions which let you point the nozzle at the ceiling without angling the gun (which can cause it to stop picking up paint before the cup is empty), they have both fixed ones (Graco TrueCoat Fixed Extension Optional Accessory) and flexible ones (Graco TrueCoat Flexible Extension Optional Accessory).

BTW, you can rent commercial grade Graco sprayers at most rental stores. They will siphon from up to a 5 gallon pails and with a 50' hose in most cases.

I had seen some of those too but nothing that cheap. What model do you have?

When I first started looking I thought the cup guns would be okay but after looking at that big building I don't think I would want to go that route. It just looks like a lot of stopping and starting to me, if it was all ground work it might not be so bad but that's not the case with this building. Thanks though for your help and suggestions your ideas have been very helpful.

I don't really want to rent one.....too far out to go pick one up and return. I looked at that idea and they wanted right at $100.00 a day to rent plus a fee for cleaning upon return. A couple jobs will pay for one at those rates.

I have to Graco sprayers. One is a HVLP unit that I use for spraying oil on cabinets, the other is a much bigger unit that I can put five gallon buckets under it and spray just about anything through it. Very simple and easy to use with nice results. With both sprayers, clean up is a lot of work and usually where I decide if I'll roll it or not. One room and I'm using the roller. On my parents house, I'll spray the entire inside of the house with primer, then paint, and do the same with the paint outside. I should be able to do it all in a day if the primer dries while I'm spraying the outside.
