OK thanks for the translations. We had some more words together. and of course the usual, other guys jumped in with their opinions. it ended with me asking him to take the photo's down, and him going off with ejejejejej.. what ever that means. I don't think I am going to get much out of him, partially due to the language barrier, but I did ask in nice Spanish why he posted my photo on his page and he never gave me a satisfactory answer, in English or Spanish.

That is pretty much what I thought.. it is still going on the google+ forum. and apparently he insulted someone else.. and he offered to "go on a road trip" to FL and is picking up James on the way!.. I think I will let it be before something bad happens.

Something BAD happening in Miami?? Nah, just not possible in that city of Palm Trees, Sunny Beaches, Drivers that can't read road signs (OR cursive for that matter), and well yeah, it's not worth the Heartburn I guess.

Its only the internet... Not worth getting too bent out of shape. People "borrow" pics to illustrate all the time.

The internet is a new way of doing the same old thing. I had a client call me to tell me a friend of his was hiring the welder who did his work for a job. The welder had photos of a railing job and that client recognized the work as being at a friend's house and called him to say they had the same welder. It was my work and it turned out the guy claiming my work had just got out of jail and was the brother of a friend in the business. Because of the friendship with the guy in the business I let it slide.

I have a certain pattern I have used for farm/ranch pipe gates that I have used for about twenty five years. It's attractive and even more important it provides strength. They are all over the area because other welders have taken to building gates the same way. Every now and then I will see one that makes me stop and scratch my head to recall if I built that one or not.

I think he may legitimately not realize that posting other people's work on his company's profile page is misleading and wrong, even if it is, "The style of work," that he does. You need to show your actual work, and if you are a professional, you will have a portfolio to put on your web page. If you haven't done enough jobs to scrape together some photos, then you're not ready to market yourself heavily yet, and you need to get some experience. But then again, he did argue with James and say it was his bucket-hook weld, not James's, so who knows.

I believe there is a way to find wherever a photo was posted on the Internet. Ill see if I can find where I found that. It would be interesting to see how many of our photos are replicated all over the World Wide Web.
