50 hour service on BX25D

Okay I have been using my BX25D for just under a month and I just hit 50 hours and it's time to service it. I have read some great posts on the subject but unfortunately I didn't bookmark them except for this excellent one started by JohnThomas:

I would appreciate any other great threads or specific tips/advice. Filter p/n's at Napa, oils, etc. Thanks in advance!

I recommend getting the filters at Kubota and hydraulic oil. Be sure the engine oil you get meets the spec in the manual. After it is out of warranty use any quality filters.

So don't buy from NAPA dealer or Messick? That will void warranty??? :confused3:

No, you are fine if you do not use OEM filters. Magnuson Moss act overs this. If your dealer gives you a hard time for not using their parts, it's time to find a new one.:thumbsup:

If you have a warranty issue and you did not use the OEM filter it will give them a loop hole. Messick is a kubota dealer.

Okay thanks. Wondering if we are talking about having to be Kobuta brand. No idea what brand Messick's sells.

There is no loophole, read the text in the second link. They cannot offer a warranty that is based on you buying only their products to maintain it, uness they provide them free. Dealers try to scare people into beleiving you must use their stuff, but it is not true. It's illegal in fact.
