Just my opinion, but I'd like to see you work on your bead control a bit more.
you mean.... I won't get a job welding gas pipes? Shoot!!! I am well aware that my beads are not beauty contest material, but as ugly as they are, they haven't come loose yet. Anyway, when possible I always complement my welds with bolts. Just makes me feel better.
Thanks for taking my constructive criticism with a light heart. I respect you for that. Couple of thoughts: could your rods be wet or are you not using a 7010 rod? Rods are surprisingly moisture sensitive and they will go bad if not stored in a sealed container. The 7010 is a more user friendly rod. A 7014 is even easier to use, but almost impossible to find.
