Yep, that happens. About 9 years ago I wrote a really long post on an accordion players newsgroup about how to establish the condition and value of a particular brand of accordion and all the variables that affect the quality. It was copied verbatim several times almost immediately and then forgotten about. This past January someone revived it and posted it to my Yahoo group as a "good source of information". The poster had gone thru it and changed the brand of the accordion to a different one. All else was the same. I asked the poster where he got the post and he said that it was copied from a European web site and had been on his hard drive for a few years. He had no idea where it originated from. I had no problem with it being copied as its intent was to put the information "out there" but it does go to show that nothing on the internet ever really goes away. I was actually kind of flattered that my words came back to me after so long.

You should have replied to Midniteoyl as my post was a complete plagiarization of his, in jest of course! :) :) :)

On the internet things sort of live, die and get reborn forever. As you have noted.

You see I would not have a problem at all with someone quoting something I said or information I have given out.

I see this as different than putting up a photo on a site that its tooting its owners own horn about what a great weldor he is, and showing examples of his work. Not to mention his telephone numbers plastered over a lot of the photo's. For a professional to take an amateur hobby weldor's work, like mine and take it for his own, is well, confusing. I did not know whether to be mad or flattered. It IS just a flat 7018 weld on a tractor bucket. And it IS just a fair weld, not a perfect one, but I guess some people will stoop down pretty low when it serves their purpose!

I wouldn't lower myself to Pedro's level. It's like fighting with a pig in the mud. All you do is get dirty and the pig enjoys it!

Some dirty low life named Pedro Alverez put one of my welding pictures in a Google+ group as an example of his work. It is the left bucket hook of my Kioti. Now it was a pretty nice weld, done with my little Everlast PA160 and some 7018. But come on, you don't have to steal it and claim it as yours. Makes you wonder if all those other nice iron work photo's he posted are stolen too..

James K0UA. chapped in Branson.

The picture of his shiny new welder is dated 3 days after last Christmas.

Which is dated later than many pictures on his site.

He has suggested that has more than one welder. Obviously, an AC225 wasn't used to do a lot of that railing.

Or even the lowly little bucket hook done with 7018 :)
