1635 Box Blade

I've been reading posts for 3 days now and need help. Need box blade recommendations for occasionally grading 1600 ft gravel driveway and some varying minor grade work and dirt moving on about 6 acres. I'm not sure how heavy I can go or which brand would be the better for whatever weight all of you experts recommend. I have a Massey Ferguson 1635 HST/Cab with washer fluid filled R4 rear tires and a FEL with a 72" bucket. I like the Land Pride, Bush Hog and Everything Attachments box blades but am open to all suggestions and information, especially on size and weights. Thanks for a great Forum.

You have the weight/power more like a MF35 so it would be my guess a light 6' might work out well. If moving dirt very far I would try to get a couple box full into the FEL and then drag the one.

A 6 footer is perfect for your tractor. Typically the heavier it is, the better that it will work. Best to get one that is built heavy vs getting a light weight unit and adding weight. The lighter units just are not as strong as the heavier ones. I personally would not even consider anything that wasn't at a minimum of 125lbs per foot of width. If I were looking for a unit, I would think hard about getting a roll over box blade as I have now.

Depending on your budget, but with 1600' of driveway to maintain, you might want to consider getting one of these just to maintain your drive. Very hard to beat one of these for road maintenance IMO.

Don't get me wrong, a box blade is an invaluable implement to have and will do your drive. Just not as fast and easy or generally as good. As you can see, I have both.

If you have much other grading to do, you may want to think about getting a top & tilt set to make your grading that much easier and better.

That grading scraper really looks like the thing to have. Now I have research to do on another implement. As far as brands go, does any one stand out or are they all going to be similar in build and weight? Guess I'll go with a 6 footer as MtnViewRanch said but now I have to figure out which one is the heaviest that I can handle. Thanks for all the help fellows!

The 1635 will lift a crazy amount, 2200 at the link ends?
Stay away from TSC junk, hit a tractor dealer, Farm King, Land Pride, MF too .

Forget the box blade, get a scraper.

My MF dealer wants to sell me a Howse BSXEB72 but I'm not sure about the durability of it. Is my tractor strong enough to pull a heavy 6 foot box blade full of dirt?

Don't own a box blade, but don't see why not.

I would not think that you will have a problem. Traction may be a problem, running out of that before power.
